Walgreens

Walgreens seemed kinda slim to me this week. But I have a few Register Rewards to use before they expire. I have had trouble getting out to shop since the van in in the shop. There is an area I need to find some bargains in. Anyway here is what I plan on getting:

Twizzlers on sale for 2/$3 with a coupon for $1 off of 3 from the 6/28 SS (Smart Source) We love to share these at the beach, my brother John calls them Sharing Sticks.

Pringles on sale for $1 with a coupons for $1/2 from the 5/17 P&G insert (that's Proctor and Gamble, there were 2 in May)

Some Free after coupon and Register Rewards items are:

Dry Idea $2.99
$2 Register Reward
$2 off coupon

Aquafresh Toothpaste $1.99
$1 Register Reward
$1 off coupon from the 6/21 Smart Source

For more deals check out here and here.

Tuesday's Table 6/30/09

Meijer is really so much fun now that I use coupons!!!! That Ronzoni pasta was free. And it has a serving of milk and whole wheat in it. The items on the left that you can't recognize are Stayfree pads. My total before coupons and sales was $57.35 and after it was $14.40. I was really pleased to see it so low with the produce included. We sure can eat a lot of that with the whole clan home for the summer. The boys are into smoothies since our strawberry adventure. I plan on going back because I forgot to print my Meijer Mealbox coupons. I will pick up Brownberry bread for under a dollar and the Heleva dip for , and I will use the coupons for the Ronzoni for $1 off of 2, making that a money maker.

Customer Service is my new friend. If a coupon doesn't run through, or I don't recieve a catalina I'm expecting, I stop by and get it straightened out. I think it helps that I shop at times that tend not to be busy. So I don't wait around. Last week, I got an additional $10 off my bill for stopping. Every bit helps, so I try to check my reciept before I leave, often while Cents rides the penny horse. Hmmm, maybe I should call it the Cents horse.

Target

Target has a couple good deals this week.

This week Coppertone Nutrashiled is on sale 10% off. You can use the $5 off coupon found here. The kids and Waterbabies are $7.99. Use $1.50/1 coupon from 5/10 SS. And you can use the Target coupon for $1 off as well.

the 6/28 RP to get it for $2.99.

Johnson's Soap Buddies--$1
Use $1/1 coupon from the 3/8 or 4/26 RedPlum insert
Free after coupon

Edy's Ice Cream--3/$7
Use $1/1 Target printable coupon
$1.33 each after coupon

Pepperidge Farm Hamburger Buns--2 for $4
Use $0.55/1 manufacturer's coupon from the 5/17 SmartSource insert
Stack with $0.75/1 Target printable coupon
$0.75 after coupons

Keebler 100 calorie Right Bites $1.88
Use $1/2 printable here
Final Price: $1.33 each when you buy 2

Morningstar Farms Garden Burgers $3.09
Use $1.00/1 printable here
Final Price: $2.09

For more match ups for Target you can go here and here. Keep in mind some of these lists are for Super Targets, so check you circular or price at the store to make sure the deal is there.

Coupon Coup

I don't know if I can find another great deal like the $6 off Kingsford Charcoal again. But here are a few other coupons I thought you might be interested in.

Coupons.com changes some coupons on July 1. We just don't know what they will change. So head on over and print any you know you will use - like the Quiznos coupon for BOGO.

$5 rebate on Glidden Paint at Home Depot.

For my healthy friends here is a Morning Star Burger coupon and here is one for a breakfast item.

You can go here for a sample Total Tide Care, $1.50 off of Tide Stain Releaser plus $1 coupons on Tide to Go.

$3 off Pull Ups. Yikes I have one more to potty train, but not yet.

Thanks to My Frugal Adventure and Money Saving Mom.

Menu Planning on Monday

My Mom taught me to plan your menu around the sales. She used to build from the moste expensive item: the Meat. Now I am learning a new way to plan menus since I have a store at home. I am still experimenting with this one a bit. But here it is for now. I try to build a menu for 20 days or a month out at at time. I write on the side the day/date of the month. To the left of this I put any evening activities. This guides for those nights it needs to be quick and easy. Then I take a good look at the freezer and pantry and start filling in items I can make, have made ahead for the freezer, or want to put together. If I am mixing up a bunch of one recipe to tuck some in my freezer I mark that as well. If any of the plans are missing an ingredient, I add that at the far right. Now I can watch for a deal on that item or pick it up on my next grocery trip. If I want to wait for a good deal I can just swap this day out with another since my list isn't just for a week.

So, maybe my menu would help:

29/M Barbecue Pork Sandwiches, Fries, Salad
30/T Cranberry Chicken and Rice, Mixed Veggies
Beach - 1/W Tuna Casserole, Bread in Machine, Salad
2/Th Raviolis, Garlic Bread, Salad, Green Beans
3/F Grill out Burgers and Dogs, Baked Beans, Salad - Ham Buns
4/S and 5/S At The Profs parents, I don't have to plan :)

I can't figure out how to add spaces or columns for this post. Hope the dashes give you the same effect. One more thing to learn how to do : )

Veggie Tales

We discovered Veggie Tales long ago and far away. Someone sent one to us while we lived in Russia when Buck was just a little tyke. All the American grown ups would come on over for a Veggie night and enjoy these videos. Who knew kids TV could be so fun? For the price of shipping and signing up for the newsletter, Veggie Tales will send you one of three titles on DVD. Your choices are: Ballad of Little Jo, Where is God when I'm Scared, and Larry Boy and the Fib from Outer Space. If you have a junk email account, you could use that when you sign up so your inbox doesn't get cluttered. Thanks to My Frugal Adventures.

Meijer Deals June 28 through July 4, 2009

There is a new set of $10 for $10, $11 is free sales this week at Meijer this week. Try to hit that 11th item to maximize your saving. Just put the number of items your buying on your list so you don't have to count in the cart or remember which were part of the deal once you filled that cart. Check on here or here for a list of the best deals and coupon match ups. But keep in mind that they double coupons for where these blogs are. There are two free items and at least 4 items for .25 or less including tuna, pasta, and dip. So can I use some self control this time is the question.

Gerald R. Ford Presidentail Musuem

If you have a membership to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, don't forget that you can also visit the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum this month for free. Just be sure and take your membership card with you. They currently have Carolyn Kennedy's dolls from her years in the White House and a quilt exhibit. So we went this morning and had a good time.

5 Mistakes Made by Newbies

The chances of my freezer exploding is decreasing. I can feel the return of self control. I don't feel the need to go out and get every deal and chase every coupon. I'm not giving up the coupons, just trying to find a way to keep a little balance in my life. After all, I still need time to blog, prepare some of that food and take the kids swimming. I just read a great article about mistakes made as you learn to shop the deals and thought you might like it. Angela over at the Coupon Project wrote it for Common Sense With Money. So you can check it out here.

Affordable Eye Care

Well, we have been through our share of years without insurance. Basically we are still experiencing them. So when I found out about an affordable place to order glasses, I was pretty curious. If you want to see just how many glasses we can go through in one week, click over here to my family blog: The Whole Fam Damily. I know the title is a little irreverant. So your getting to know me for real now. My dad used to refer to us that way. It is frightening how much I quote my Dad.

Okay, back to the glasses. I ordered mine from Zenni Optical about 2 weeks ago and they came today. I'm pleased with the fit and the look. I just called my eye doc and they sent me a script with the prescription. I had to call back to get the measurement from the middle of one pupil to the
middle of the other to finish filling out my order. I spent $26.80 including shipping for my glasses and the clip on sunglasses (these are not an exact fit, but a pretty good match up). There prices start at $8 for single vision no frill glasses.
One more question and then I'm done.
Do you like these?: Or these:

Quiznos Coupon

There is a Quiznos coupon for the second sub free when you buy one sub and a drink.

A New Language

I never wanted to learn another language as a kid. Sister Mary 3 ended up as a Spanish major in college and Sister Mary 5 loves her German classes. I somehow avoided any extra language in college. I did get a chance to learn some Russia when The Prof and I lived there with baby (at the time) Buck. But I sure have forgotten a whole lot. Anyway, Sister Mary 1 checked out the blog and said it looked cool but there was a lot of new lingo. So this is my attempt to give out a basic bargainers vocabulary.

Smart Source or SS - these are one of two coupon inserts in your paper. The other is
Red Plum or RP - both also have online coupons as well. Occasionally there are
Unilever or Proctor and Gamble coupons in your Sunday Paper too.

Catalina - (nope, not the salad dressing) ever get handed a little coupon that printed out at check out? The machines that print them are named Catalina. Pay attention to these little guys. Sometimes they let you know of upcoming deals, are coupons, or are cash off your next purchase.

BOGO or B1G1 - Buy One, Get One, or sometimes B1G1 half off. Combine these deals with a coupon on each item and the savings really start adding up.

Rolling - okay, say you get a catalina for $3 off your next purchase when you buy shampoo at that store. On some sales or deals, you can use that catalina coupon to buy more of the same shampoo, and get another catalina coupon for $3 off your next order. So you can stock up and the savings just increase. This doesn't work on all catalinas or all stores, so it's great to know when it does work.

OOP or Out of Pocket - what you pay at check out for your purchases. See, I'm often using catalinas or a gift card in addition to my coupons, meaning less cash out of pocket.

Blinkies or Peelies - don't think I have used this term on the blog yet. Ever noticed a coupon right on the package that you can peel off? That is a peelie. Along the same lines, there is sometimes a little machine that will print out a coupon right next to the product, that is a Blinkie.

Okay, anything I missed or wasn't clear on? Just leave me a comment and I will try to help you.

Recipes On the Computer

How hi-tech are you? Are you ready to switch over from the recipe box to the computer? I used the computer for finding a freezer jam recipe and it was way quicker than hunting through my books or mags. But I don't always have computer accesss. Buck, Half Buck, and Mite looooove the computer. The Prof occasionally needs access to it too, for some reason. So, I'm going to wait a bit. But if you are interested in organizing your recipies on the computer, here is a free download. My thanks to My Frugal Adventures.

Email This!

You learn something new every day. Some days I even pay attention! I just learned that if you click the little envelope at the bottom of the post you can forward that post on to a friend. How cool is that? No cut and paste required. Of course you do have to remember their email address. Details, details. Kinda fun though. So go ahead and share some of the deals I'm finding.

Old Navy Swim Suits and Shorts Sale

Old Navy is offering Shorts and Swimsuits for the family for $5 each piece while supplies last this Friday through Sunday.

To get an even better deal, use a printable coupon from the Old Navy Weekly website. To get the 15% off coupon, click on the orange sign that says "Get their no-sweat style." Or for the 10% off coupon, click around on the video. They have a limited number to print, so stop by soon. Thanks Macomb Money Saver. I just printed mine, so there are still some 15% off left.

Pictureka

There are some new coupons at coupons.com. If you are looking for some early Christmas Shopping or a road trip/vacation game, stop by and print some out. They have $10 off Electtronic Monopoly, $10 off Scrabble, and $5 off Pictureka. Some Targets have the travel Pictureka for under $7.

And if you like Scrabble, visit my family blog called The Whole Fam Damily to learn a quick and fun game we learned to play called Take Two.

Thanks to Money Saving Madness.

CVS Deals this Week

I don't have a CVS close to me....but maybe you do. Although, I sure wish we did when I hear from my friend about deals like this:

CVS was really good yesterday but it was the first time I did it. I bought

20 Soyjoy bars (reg 1.29 ea)
2 boxea Always Infiniti (reg 10.59 ea)
2 Sobe Lifewater (reg 1.59 ea)
Box of chips for a work potluck (1.99)

Spent 18.97 oop got $20 in extra care bucks....so all that stuff was free!!!

That was my best deal so far!

I used 2 $4/1 for the Always Infiniti (P&G 6/7)
And 2 $2/10 soyjoy bars (can't remember when but it was SS)
and 2 B1G1 soyjoy coupons

Way to go Autumn! Apparently some stores are running an unadvertised sale on the Always Infiniti for $4.99. So, with the coupon, they are $1. Thanks for letting us know this deal is working locally. Let me know if this deal works for you. I never know what is helping others, but thought this one worth a post.

Parents Magazine for Free

I just said I wasn't into samples....but 24 issues for free seems like more than a sample to me! Click over here for Parents magazine for free. Thanks to A Thrifty Mom.

Strawberry Picking and Jam

This was kinda fun. I dragged all 5 kids out to the strawberry farm thanks to some Face book encouragement from Barb and Kelly. And thanks to some blog I read, I thought freezer jam would be easy. So I gave it a try. After $28 worth of berries, I had to do something to use some of them up. Even Buck and Half Buck can't eat that much. I think Mite might have though, if I had let him.

So here is what I did: I washed those berries up and then began hulling them. If they were mushy, they went right into my blender. If they were just right they went into some bowls to eat with pound cake, pancakes, and shortcake (this from a girl who doesn't like normal cake!). And some of those just right went into freezer bags for a rainy day. Although, where I will shove them in the freezer is still a mystery!

They have this freezer jam pectin that comes in a bag (like your onion soup packets or something) that cost less than sure jell and it only uses a cup and a half of sugar (compared to 4 or more cups for the usual kind). So I figured I saved two different ways. I mixed the pectin and sugar, blended strawberries till they reached the 4 cup line and then mixed them all for 3 minutes by hand (all right, by spoon). Then I just put them in whatever leftover Tupperware/butter tubs I had hanging around that still had a lid without a crack in it. Into the freezer they went, except two. One for us and one for a neighbor who is a coupon supplier! It turned out pretty well.

Now if I could only grow tomatoes. I haven't killed my hanging garden yet and it smells kinda spice cabinet-y. I will have to ask Heidi what I do with those herbs.

Tuesday's Table 6/23/09

I sure had fun after taking a week off from shopping. I still need to lay off the freezer foods until my boys catch up in the eating department. My total began at $89 and change and came on down to $49 and change. I found a great deal with the extra coupon I found for $6 off Kingsford Charcoal and another item. You can find out about that coupon here. I chose the KC barbecue sauce with Kingsford Charcoal because I had a coupon for that as well from Red Plum 5/10. While picking those items up, I noticed a rebate on the KC barbecue sauce and any beef or chicken purchase for $3. So I spent $1.79 each charcoal, .09 each barbecue sauce, and 7.09 for my meat. I will get another $3 back with my rebate. So for the price of about one bag of charcoal I got 2 bags, 2 barbecue, and four pounds of meat to grill. See why I think coupons are fun?

If you noticed, I have some different deals than I listed for my earlier Meijer post. I'm still using and very happy with Savings Angel, Click HERE to cut your grocery bill in HALF! 30 days FREE!. Leave me a comment and how to contact you if you would like more information about it. They have not just a few deals, but all the deals and coupon match ups, community pages to share information about deals, and more. If you sign up under me, I get a discount on my membership....and well, you are beginning to see how I do like a discount : )

Red Box

I figure, I better try something before I post about it, and I have tried this one. It was pretty easy. Red Box is a video dispensing machine in many stores. It's about the size of a pop machine and movies cost the same to rent. They are all one night rentals for $1. They have some new releases. Oh, you need to follow the instructions on the screen when you return it too. Often they have free codes out there. So now you know why I tried it. It looks something like this:

It is at the front of my Meijer toward the pharmacy side. Basically you use a credit card and make your selection and use the code. If you return it on time, the card will not be deducted anything. If you return late, it is just a buck a day more. So here is a code for today and tomorrow: rbxthxu6. Thanks Money Saving Mom.

Coupon Coup

You have to know that my hubby, the Prof, teaches Political Science. While I don't think I will be adding here who I vote for, I can use my vocab words. Plus I was looking for that catchy title for when I want to give a couple coupon links. A lot of the sites with coupons and deals provide all kind of freebies, samples, sign up for this. I know I was and still am hesitant on a lot of that. But there are a few coupons I think are worth it, so I will try to pass those along to you.

Tyson Fresh Chicken Product $1 off coupon here. Use the print icon above the coupon.

I don't know where Money Saving Madness finds these coupons, but check this out: you can view the Graco Baby Guide. On page 35 you'll find a $2/1 Huggies Diapers coupon! It is good on any size package and doesn't expire until 5/30/2010!

And here is a great $6 coupon that is good until December on Kingsford Charcoal and one additional product.

Another Freezer Recipe

I had my friend and kids over for dinner a couple days ago. I missed my boys so much, I had her bring hers. I really enjoyed there antics. Her second born and mine are quite the negotiators. When given a choice of cookies or ice cream for dessert, he suggested cookies on top of ice cream with a cherry on top. I made up a freezer cooking recipe I love and thought I would share it with you.

Make Ahead Chimichangas

1 pound ground beef browned
16 oz salsa
1 package of taco seasoning
1 can re fried beans
2 Cups shredded cheddar
12 - 16 flour tortillas

Combine beef, salsa, beans, and seasoning envelope. Cook and stir over medium heat to heat through. Add half the cheese. Put about half a cup in tortilla and roll. Place in pan and top with the rest of the cheese. Bake 15 minutes at 350. If you are freezing, I place them on a cookie sheet to freeze. Then transfer to a zip lock bag. Now you can take out as many as you need. Attach the bag of cheese to the Chimichangas so you can find it.

Old Navy Tanks

I missed out on the $1 flip flops a couple weeks ago. This Saturday, June 20th, they are having their tanks on sale for $2 each. The limit is 5 per customer and when they're gone, they're gone. I've heard the crowds turn out for these sales, so for selection, get there early. Thanks to all my blog friends on this one.

Friday's Finds

This will may be a challenge for me to pick a favorite each week. Well, this week, I did a lot less shopping, so that should make it easier. I'm pretty jazzed about my John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo and Conditioner. They were 3/$15 at Walgreens with a $5 RR. Then I used 3 $3 off coupons and I used to be a Suave girl. It was cheap and seemed to work fine. So trying all these brand beauty products is very fun for me.

But I think it would be fun to hear from you too. Post a comment about your favorite deal this week. Was there something you got free or a favorite item on sale? I would really love to see what you are finding out there. So send along a comment and I will add it to this post.

Painting Projects

Shoot, we just finished all the painting The Prof wants to do this summer. I come up with these house projects and he carries them out. But here is a Sherman Williams coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase, excluding ceiling paint and gift cards. This coupon is good until June 30Th. Thanks to Money Saving Madness.

Schnwan's $5 off coupon

I have never ordered from the yellow Schwans truck that hangs out in my neighborhood before. But here is something to help as I give it a try. Get $5 off any order at Schwan's with promo code D5. There are numerous items for under $5- you pay a delivery fee of $1 and they bring it straight to your door!

You will still need to pay shipping on this one, which should be about a buck. Thanks to My Frugal Adventures.

Clipping or Filing?

No I'm not talking about your nails!!!! I'm talking about your coupons of course. I know that this post and picture might send my sisters to go get me professional help. You see, we joke about addiction in my clan (because we like to laugh about problems instead of cry). Well, I finally found mine. I have a stash, a supplier, and cravings. Yep, I think you could call it an addiction. But I also have an 18 month old. So I have to hide my addiction. I can't just leave my coupons lying around the house. That is like letting him eat cash. So I have opted for the filing method of storage for my coupons.

Basically I took a bunch of files and labeled them This Month SS (Smart Source), This Month RP (Red Plum), Last Month and so on. Then I write the date on the front of each insert and put them in order in the file. When the kids mess up the order, it is printed in tiny you really need bifocals print on the spine. Savings Angel and many of the coupon web sites will let you know which of these inserts to find the coupon. Once I have my list with that information, I can just clip the coupons I need. This has helped me as a new couponer (I ran my spell check and that is not a word!) to be able to find the coupons I need. Before I would have clipped perhaps 5 coupons of products I couldn't get at Aldis and let them expire before I used them. Now I am trying anything cheaper than Aldis and many new to me products. So every coupon is a potential I might use. That is the biggest reason I'm not a clipper.

But for those of you that are. Let your kids clip for you. They will actually enjoy doing it. I don't have this option. My new addiction has me very paranoid about my stash. You can get one of those cute little folders for storing them. But I can tell you that its not going to last. You will quickly add more and more categories, outgrow it and be on to the plastic shoe box. The advantage you have is that you can go shopping with the whole stash. So, when you see that clearanced item, you can (hopefully) match up your coupon and really score a deal (see, talking like an addict again. Weird how similar the language is). You will also need to decide which coupons to clip. This is now simple for me: all of them. Alright, personally, I skip the pet food, but that is about it. My junkie friend is a clipper. She is a new addict, like me. We will start talking about this weeks score and sometimes she has to miss them because she didn't clip that coupon!

Yep, I think my sisters will be sending help any moment now. So if you don't hear from me for awhile it means they sent me took me out and made me pay retail.

Hey, look what I found while I was working on this post! Money Saving Madness was talking about what worked for her and found something you might like. Money Saving Madness is having a give away of a coupon organizer. So click on over and enter. I know, I know, you thought I was a filer. I am, but the price was right!

Breyers Deal at Jewel

This one is going out to my Illinois Family and Friends. My Mom was a faithful customer at Jewels. In fact, she always took at least one kid to push the second cart full of groceries! Then we got to pick one treat for helping her. I always picked cookies. Sorry I didn't give you more time on this one. Wish I could eat a scoop with you.

Through June 17, 2009, (yep, tomorrow, I know) if you buy 4 cartons of Breyers ice cream at Jewel, you'll pay $10 out of pocket and get a $12 catalina back which is good on your next order. Use 2 $1/2 coupons from the 5/17 RedPlum insert and you'll get the ice cream for free! If you have a preferred card, use it after scanning the items.

Want to save and get even more Ice Cream? You can "roll" this deal meaning you can use the catalina you earned on the last transaction to buy more ice cream and earn another catalina. So stock up on this great deal while you can! Even if you don't have any coupons to use, the ice cream is still only $0.50/carton--which is an unheard of deal for Breyers ice cream!

More details here and here.

JC Penneys Coupon Again!

I enjoyed my coupon so much last time and here it is again! I got a pair of jeans and a jean jacket for around $15 after the coupon. Then I went and used another on my curtains for my family room that we just painted. Well, I may just have to go see what is new on clearance there with the $10 off a $25 purchase. If you shop online you can use the code 104U. Enjoy, but hurry. This is only good through the 16th. Thanks Money Saving Madness.

Here is my trip from Sunday. I stuck to my list and deals for the most part. I made a trip down the clearance isle for some fillers. Basically I was buying 9 items with 11 or 12 coupons. So I needed to make sure I had as many or more items as I had coupons. So I picked up a few plastic cups for 10 cents (and Cents can play with them). My total was $12.95 after coupons and I then used a $10 register reward from the hair dryer two weeks ago to pay for it. I couldn't use my $2 register reward because you apparently can't use them to pay for tax. So I paid $2.25 out of pocket tonight and got back $11 in register rewards. I hope you are getting the idea of how to make the register rewards work for you.

Goodrich Quality Theaters is offering $1 movies this summer. There are 10 weeks of $1 movies in Holland and Grand Haven. There are some Illinois locations too. They are running from June 15Th to August 21st Monday through Friday at 10:30am. Here is the link to Kids Summer Movies.

Testing

This blog entry is a test. The emergency operating system is conducting a test. This is to see if I can schedule a post to publish at a certain time. If this post appears on Saturday, chaulk up one more blogging skill for Betz. If not we will run another test in the near future. Please stay tuned to this local blog in the event of a bargaining need.

Gift Shopping

Does anyone else keep a gift closet? You know, a box full of bargain items tucked away for the next round of birthday parties - teacher thank you - I like it so well and the deal was so good I will buy two. Well here is something to tuck in that box. Or just to get you started. This can be a great way to save money. Last minute shopping is expensive! I know it is, because I just did it this week for the party Half Buck went to. But I am starting on Christmas already. And this deal should be great for Mite: Geo Traxs is offering a free DVD. It says it will take 12 - 14 weeks to ship.

Organic Coupons

This for my friend Heidi! And probably a few others may enjoy them too. Wondering if you can get deals on organics well here is a link to a site where you can print 29 of them. Now we just need to find a sale to use them with! Thanks to A Thrifty Mom for the lead.

Free Pack of Sun Exposure Stickers

We are heading for the beach in a few more weeks!!! I love the beach: the sound of the waves, the sun making me sleeping, icecream at the soda bar. But I don't love sunburn. So here is a link for a free pack of Sundiwear stickers that turn red to let you know when to reapply that sunscrean. They are geared toward kids with teddy bears and hearts, but apparently you can order plain ones too. You can use the stickers on skin or on clothing. Thanks to Money Saving Madness for the idea.

I Did It

A couple years ago I got a part time office job. Boy did I need some training on computers. I knew how to use email but not how to even change my fonts or colors, let alone add an attachment. Can anyone relate. I had the most patient boss who stood over my shoulder and gave clear instructions I could follow to navigate the screen and learn how to use their website and ordering system. But it has been blogging and face book that has grown my courage to work with photos online and even post a video. These seem like medals won to a stay at home mom whose laundry is never completed. So changing my wallpaper or background is a very fun victory. I've made a habit of trying skill again and again until it is solid for me. So don't be surprised if I change it a few more times. Who knows what I'll learn to add tomorrow. Certainly the laundry can wait awhile longer! Thanks to The Cutest Blog on the Block.

Restaurant Deals

This one I have never tried, but it looks like a good deal. Restaurant.com has gift certificates for local places. You visit their site and choose the restaurant you want a gift certificate for. There are some restrictions such as one per table and for the $25 one you need to spend $35. There are quite a few local restaurants for Grand Rapids. Since I'm not a local girl, I've never heard of them. Please leave me a comment if you see one I should try! Especially since the current coupon code is PRESENT and is good for 80% off through 6/15/09. These may be really handy if you are going on vacation as well. That is what I'm going to check into for the Disney adventure my big boys are going on next week. I really feel like a big family now that we have big kids and littles. I grew up as one of the "four littles" and now my family has these age breaks too. See what restaurants they have listed for the town you are going to. Thanks to For the Mommas for the tip.

Steak and Shake is currently running a good deal too. They have 4 menu items that are under $4. Then on the weekends, children eat free. For each $8 spent you can receive one free children's meal. We went with The Profs parents and bought 6 adult meals and 3 kids ate free. I don't think they often take 9 people out for dinner for under $30! The kids loved the fold up car kit too, but Mite destroyed them all :) Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for the tip and the meal!

Sears Sale on Mens Pants

If you are needing some pants for your man, then Sears has a good deal for you: Purchase $50 or more of any combination of men's pants or jeans, receive $50 in Sears Rewards Cash by mail redeemable for men's apparel. Rewards Cash expires 10/30/09. Limit one per household. Mail in rebate must be postmarked 6/30/09 and the offer is valid for purchases made by 6/21/09. Since I have two men to buy for these days (yep, Buck is over 5'8"!) I may just go see what is on sale over there.

Arby's Deal

Every Wednesday, Arby's is offering some special or free item. Today the deal is a free Roast Chicken Club with any softdrink purchase. So enjoy a treat while your out bargaining today.

Tuesday's Table 6/9/09

Perhaps I need to re-title this section since I haven't been very faithful to posting it on Tuesdays! I keep thinking, I won't buy much at Meijer this week since I don't need much right now, and I sure am running out of room to store it. We have some traveling planned next week so I need to cut back on my shopping. But when these stock up opportunities come up, I stock up. The Prof has offered me some more shelves in the basement and it's time to take him up on it. So my price before coupons was was $92.61 and after coupons and sales it was $43.39. As always, these deals are brought to me by Savings Angel. Feel free to leave a comment if you need more information about Savings Angel. Or I would just love to hear what deals you scored this week.
