Free Dish Detergent at Walgreens

Well, I don't track the deals too far ahead, but I did see several posts about this. Look for a $2.50 Finish coupon in this Sundays Paper. Then head on over to Walgreens where it will be priced around $3.50 with a $1 Register reward! Yep, the bottom line will be free or very close to. I will be looking for coupons for this one and hoping Walgreens is stocked up! I was just running low too.

Walgreens Deals

Well, I'm having a little photo trouble over here. So if there is a picture, be impressed. If you have any Huggies coupons, Walgreens is the deal this week. They are 8.99 with a $2 Register Reward. So with my $2 coupon from the Parade 2 weeks ago, they were 4.99. Then I also picked up the Complete Contact Solution, because it was free after register rewards. This is the third week of Contact Solution for free. I wonder how long into 2010 I can go without having to pay for it now that I'm stocked up. I also picked up Hunts 3/$1 and 4 Little Christmas bags for $1 - mostly so I had enough items to use up a lot of Register Rewards from last week.

Okay, I'm off to figure out my camera issues. I have 3 Christmas programs in 5 days....so I don't know how much other shopping I will do. I'm trying to finish up a couple things online. I didn't know that even ebay gets pricey this time of year.

Walgreens sale through Saturday

I had some serious fun at Walgreens today. The store was really quiet, so I was able to do 2 checkouts and think at the same time. The first thing to know is that thru Saturday they have $5 register reward back on a purchase of $25 - before coupons. The second thing to know is that they have a ton of things that are free after Register Rewards. So you can go and just pick up the items on the endcap that are free after RR and make sure your total hits $25. I got the Renu, Stayfree with coupons as well. The Oil of Olay BOGO coupon is in your most recent P&G coupon book and there is a rebate for the Quench lotion. Won't those make a really nice gift bag for a teacher??? So I used up my register rewards from last week and only spent $30.60, I got back $40 in Register Rewards and I will do the rebate on the Oil of Olay for $20. Can that mean I will make a $30 profit on the items purchased above!!! :) Yep, so long as I use the Register Rewards by December 25th. If I keep using them on items that trigger another Register Reward...I keep buying many toiletries and even food for free. You can save a lot of money by knowing how this system works and working it. Tuesday's Table

No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth....my printer did...then the computer did. We got a new laptop at Black Friday sales, but I still need to order some color cartridges. I basically sat out the Thanksgiving sales since I couldn't print the coupons I needed to put together the best deals. Hopefully I'm up and running again. I would love to hear from you in the comments to know what kind of things you like to see here. I've been feeling like I'm blogging to myself out here!


I've been doing well at Walgreens lately and so had some Register Rewards to use. You can see what I got above. After coupons my total was $3.09, so I used a $2 RR and paid $1.09 out of pocket for my 6 items and 5 fillers. I just realized, I should have used a coupon for my filler or it would have been less. I had a total of 9 coupons to use plus my Register rewards, so I chose the bags to bring my item count up. And I got a RR for $5 on the Triaminic.

Walgreens

I'm finally really excited about Walgreens deals this week. I went early so the shelves would be stocked. If you buy 8 items of Skippy or Ragu, you get $8 in register rewards. Each item was $1.67, so even without coupons, this was a great price...provided you don't let that register reward expire. So I took my Ragu and Skippy out to the car and came back in and bought $10 worth of Granola bars with some coupons and used the $8 register reward to pay for them. And for spending the $10, I got $5 register reward. I was going to use that toward the Huggies deal going right now: 2/$18 with a $4 register reward. There are $2 printable coupons out there, making this a 2/$10 deal. So I will be going back to do this later in the week. Tuesday's Table

Wow, I went to the store on Tuesday actually!!! What a shock. I pretty much forced myself to because my friend Cathi told me the blog had been lame lately. Since it was a small deal week, it was a bit easier to put together. The Oatmeal was a raincheck deal from a couple weeks ago. The pasta was .29 cents and the Splenda had Meijer mealbox coupons and some from their site. I also used $5 in coupons from a a trip to the Customer Services a couple weeks ago. It really pays to check your reciept to make sure the deals worked right before you leave the store. So all this for $8.09 when I could have paid an additional $36.27.



Over at Walgreens, they had a lot of items that are free after the Register Rewards. That was okay with me because I had $11 in Register Rewards to use up by....oh today. So I checked Tout 3 times to keep my stash up. I will have to remember to post a pic of what I do with the pink hair spray this Halloween : ) Remember that you have to have a total that is equal or above the Register Reward at check out. So I threw in a Sharpie on sale for .25. Also remember that you need to have no more coupons than items you purchase.



Here is my reason to go back this week. They have a new October book of coupons out. It is right by the ads for this week. $2 off Huggies wipes, currently priced at $2.99. So if you can dig up any wipes coupons these will be an awesome deal! You can just hand this to them at check out and they will return it. So don't cut out these coupons, just show them the one you want to use. And this coupon will only count as one coupon, no matter how many you buy. So, if you buy 3 with 3 .50 off coupons and the $2 off coupon, that will equal 4 coupons. You only need to pick up on Sharpie or other filler : ) Hope that makes sense Cathi! Can You Really Make Money with Coupons

I really wondered about this question and decided: who cares. I can sure save a lot of money with coupons. I really wasn't trying to make money when I began. What I save can be used to reduce our debts, fund those braces, or allow us to go out to eat (with a coupon of course). But I have seen some folks who have. Not all the time, just occasionally. And I did wonder if I would get there. And I have learned quite a bit about the way it can be done.

On these purchases at Walgreens today I used 3 $1 coupons off my bill of $8.35. I then used two Register Rewards for $4 more off the total and paid $1.40 out of pocket. If you can see by the print out, I got a register reward for a mail in rebate for $3.99 price of the goody headband. This is where I can make money: I used a $1 off coupon to purchase it found here or over on my side bar, and now I will rebate for the cost of $3.99. So after my stamp, this made money. I also kept my out of pocket down from the register rewards. Thanks for the tip from Coupon Cravings.



Then I dashed back into Meijer as planned. I simply love Brownberry bread and couldn't pass up on a loaf for under a buck. I also picked up the Heluva dips with the .75 off coupon plus the .25 off from Meijer Mealbox, making them .19. When I paid my out of pocket my total was $3.39. Then I picked up the print out coupons from that catalina machine. I hit the jackpot since someone ahead of me must have skipped them! I got $1 off 2 Heluva dips, $1 off any bread purchase, $1 off a $10 meat or seafood purchase, and $2.50 off a frozen food purchase of $9. Now, I doubt I will use the Heluva coupon, but I know I can and will buy bread, meat, and frozen food at Meijer again. So that gives me a total of $4.50 free at Meijer. Can you see this saving some money! Don't forget those catalinas.

So while, I'm not taking home cash, I am seeing a significant difference in the cost of our groceries over here. If you have had some successful shopping trips, I would love to share them here. Go ahead and leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Walgreens seemed kinda slim to me this week. But I have a few Register Rewards to use before they expire. I have had trouble getting out to shop since the van in in the shop. There is an area I need to find some bargains in. Anyway here is what I plan on getting:

Here is my trip from Sunday. I stuck to my list and deals for the most part. I made a trip down the clearance isle for some fillers. Basically I was buying 9 items with 11 or 12 coupons. So I needed to make sure I had as many or more items as I had coupons. So I picked up a few plastic cups for 10 cents (and Cents can play with them). My total was $12.95 after coupons and I then used a $10 register reward from the hair dryer two weeks ago to pay for it. I couldn't use my $2 register reward because you apparently can't use them to pay for tax. So I paid $2.25 out of pocket tonight and got back $11 in register rewards. I hope you are getting the idea of how to make the register rewards work for you.

Deals for the Week

Here are a couple good deals at Walgreens you might want to try this week:

Buy 2 Johnson's Baby Powder 1.5 oz for $1 each and use the coupons from Red Plum insert 3/8 or 4/26. You will also get a $2 register reward (or coupon off your next order) at check out. I love this stuff to clean off the sand on the babies bum after the beach. This size will be great for the beach bag.

Mars candy is on sale for 2/$1, use the B1G1 from Red Plum 5/17 to get them for .25.

Reynolds Aluminium Foil 20 sq ft is on sale for .89 with the coupon from their ad, then use .55 from 4/19 Smart Source insert.

Remember that you can only use as many coupons as you have items and that you can only do one register reward each check out or transaction. So don't try 4 baby powders in one check out (I know, who has that many baby bottoms!).

Tuesday's Table 5/25/09

The Prof wanted to come with me couponing this week....with 3 young kids....good thing it was a small week of shopping. The Prof and I checked out seperately so we could go past the limit. And we used Register Rewards (10 on one and 13 on the other) to keep our out of pocket lower. So our total for this trip was: 1.56 around 7 - don't know what the Prof did with that reciept). We didn't buy anything that triggered more Register Rewards this week, I don't know if I will regret that in a week or two, I'll let you know.Here is what I did at Walgreens:

Well I'm pretty well stocked up over here. After the Ragu sale last week, I picked up some frozen spinich and put together 4 Baked Ziti recipes (yeah, one is baking while I blog). Then I used my free salad dressing to make Cranberry Chicken. This week I wanted to just go in for a few great deals and things we needed. I'm learning to menu plan for a month. Basically I'm making a big list of what I can make from my stash. On the far right side I list anything I still need to make the meal. If it comes on sale, we buy it. If the item doesn't, I might try delaying that menu item a week or so to see if it does come on sale, or it is off to Aldi for that.
This week I was kinda hoping to keep it kinda small and little out of pocket. It was still a fun trip, especially with The Prof watching Two Bits, Cents, and Mite : ) I love when the hubby gets a taste of Mom reality. I found out he defines behaving in the store completely differently than I do. Currently, my goal is to have Cents not have a potty accident and stay in the same aisle as me. So here is what I did:

Then to pay I used coupons that printed out at prior trips worth $12. And I got a new one for a free Meijer sugar with a purchase of 20 kool-aid envelopes. My total out of pocket was $8.69, my savings was $52.28. I was telling a friend about Savings Angel and how it was helping us with the grocery bill and just felt empowering today. Off Clip on Deal

Well, I'm posting this one for Sister Mary 4 whose children have a bad reaction to mosquito bites. I don't know if this product works, but if it is like their lantern, I will love it! Click here for a coupon for a free refill when you buy the clip on repellent. Now take that on over to Walgreens with the coupons for $2 off the Clip on and $1 off the refill from the Smart Source insert from 5/17/09 with Steak and Shake on the front. At check out you should get a $3 off your next purchase. Remember that you can only have as many coupons as products. So throw in one more item without coupon. I actually wasn't able to use the $1 one, because they said one coupon per product. Oh well, my total was still under $5. My thanks to moneysavingmadness for the coupon idea.

Tuesday's Table 5/19/09

Well, I'm holding off on Meier until my in-laws come later this week. They usually take us grocery shopping and pick up the tab. It is a bonus to their visits! Helps defray all the cleaning I will need to do this week. Why did we pick this week to paint paneling in the family room? Oh yeah, the Prof is between classes. But I don't know where I will put the food just now. The pantry doors have a rubber band tying them shut. It keeps Mite out of the stock of crackers, cereal, spices, and popcorn. (The crackers and cereal are his real quarry; the spices and popcorn are just good "shake-a-shake" toys.--Prof) I stocked the freezer with all those hot dogs and buns last week. I think I'm actually stocking it faster than Buck and Half Buck can eat it. Since Buck bypassed the Prof this spring, that is no small accomplishment. I can't wait to show them what I've been up to with coupons. So here is a look at what I did at Walgreen's and Rite Aid this week. Now, before you go thinking I'm hitting every store in town....okay, sometimes I do....I don't always. Rite Aid is near piano lessons for Two Bits and they had a couple free items with coupons. So, since I had no kids with me....I thought I would just check them out.

Now on to Walgreen's, my haunt during preschool on Monday mornings. I like going there early in the week, because their best deals do go fast. It was Cents last day at preschool, so we were going to the party at the park afterward. Today I had to leave checkout because Cents decided to walk out the door without me! Yep, I walked away from my purse, my Mite and my deals all to chase my girl in the parking lot. This was after I shamed her down from the alarm monitors by the door that she was shimmying up like a monkey. Sometimes shopping makes you sweat. Well, now that I'm typing about it, she left after the ice cream treat time to go back to the playground alone. Mite and I were looking all around for her while the other little girls were getting their photo taken with the teacher and saying their goodbyes. And Mite wasn't really looking for her, he was cleaning up on any ice cream bowls left unattended. I think I have some kiddie rules to review.

Okay, back to Walgreen's. They have a program of Register Rewards coupons that you receive at check out. There are a couple things to know going in. You can only get one per transaction. These are store coupons good for 2 weeks. If you use the RR to purchase the same thing, you will not get another one printed. Also, their computer is picky: only as many coupons as items you buy. So you can't buy toothpaste and deodorant with 2 coupons and then use RR to take the total down. You have to have an item without coupons. Well, milk is usually 2 bucks there, and they have a clearance aisle. I can always find something for 50 cents or less that we need or will use. So here is this weeks trip:
